Sport & exercise
in the Weinviertel
Cycle the Weinviertel
Sporty and ambitious or leisurely and relaxed – everyone gets their money’s worth around Retz. The options for exploring the region by bike are varied and, like the region’s wines, close to nature and well-developed.
Get on your bike and get pedalling! 35 cycle paths, named after noble grape varieties, are waiting to be explored by you. Like the Chardonnay cycle path, for example, which connects Retzbach with the Pulkau valley. Or the famous Weinviertel DAC cycle path, a somewhat more ambitious day tour of 54.4 kilometres, which leads from Retz via Pulkau to Platt and Zellerndorf and also stops off in the romantic Öhlberg-Kellergasse in Pillersdorf on its way back.
Enjoyable serenity is the motto of the Weinviertel. 10 Viktoria e-bikes in 3 different frame sizes are available to our guests at the Althof.
- all day for € 29.90
- half-day until 2.00 p.m. for € 22.-

Hiking in the Weinviertel
Where you can cycle well, you can also hike well!
Hiking the Weinviertel
For all those who want to feel the rhythm of the Weinviertel not just in their pedals but under their soles, there are of course also a variety of options – from leisurely walks through the vineyards to hikes past historic buildings and enchanting shrines to the legendary Bründl spring and destinations such as the Hochkogelkreuz and the Teufelswand. Alternatively, you can enjoy a stop at one of the many wineries or wine taverns.
