The wine shop with the largest regional variety of wines and vintners in Lower Austria
Over 300 wines from 87 winegrowers from the Retzer Land region at the same price as from the winegrower.
Since 1991, the Gebietsvinothek Retzer Land in the premises of the country estate Althof Retz has been the end point of the Retz cellar tours. At the time, some winegrowers wanted to offer all visitors to the Retzer Erlebniskeller a glass of wine as a tasting to showcase the region’s wines and their diversity.
Throughout the year you can taste 250 wines from the Retzer Land region from 80 different winegrowers in around 30 varieties in our regional wine cellar and purchase them at the same price as from the winegrower himself (from the 1st bottle!). Regional specialities round off the offer. Of course we also ship all wines via DPD – ideal for repeat orders or if your car boot is too small.

In winter: daily from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. via the hotel reception

Wine characterises the region, wine characterises the people of Retzer Land. Wine is also given a special stage at the Althof. In the Retzer Land regional wine shop, in our winegrowers’ rooms and of course in the VinoSPA. Culinary, the name of this stage ist:
Vini e gusti – exclusive wine culinary experience: 5 courses – 10 wines
At each event, a leading winegrower from the Retzer Land region presents the latest wines and rarities from their cellars to accompany a top-class culinary experience. Unlike normal culinary events, the wine is not chosen to go with the food, but the menu is chosen to go with the wine. This guarantees pure culinary delight!

NEU: Sunset Tasting: Weinviertel wine tasting at sunset
An unforgettable and exclusive experience all about Weinviertel wine with a walk through the vineyards, 6 wine tastings with culinary delicacies from the Althof kitchen on the VinoSPA terrace with a view of the sun setting behind the Retz windmill.

Heuriger of 100 wines
Cosy and sociable get-togethers in the idyllic ambience of the arcade courtyard, in the Zirbenstüberl or in the large centuries-old vaulted room with the original wine press.
