Opened at the beginning of 2016 and already the spa highlight in the Weinviertel and surrounding area of Vienna: the most spectacular hotel pool in eastern Austria can be found on the roof of the new spa building, from where you can experience the vineyards up close and enjoy a breathtaking view of the two Retz landmarks at the same time. The VinoSPA has been consistently awarded 1 Lily by the independent Relax Guide since its opening!

VinoSPA honoured by RelaxGuide
Since ancient times, the lily has been a symbol of purity, but also of renewal. In the RELAX Guide, it symbolises special performance and quality in wellness hotels, similar to the “toques” in gastronomy. The RELAX Guide wellness hotel guide is independent and critical. It is the only guide to scrutinise all hotels in the wellness, health and spa sectors every year. Anonymous testers scrutinise the entire range on offer in Austria, i.e. all hotels that focus on wellness and health. The hotel ratings determined in this way through an objective industry comparison are of the highest quality. This is because the criteria of the wellness hotel guide are clearly standardised and apply to all hotels.
Our Althof VinoSPA was tested anonymously in the first year of its existence and has been awarded 1 Lily every year since then by the independent Relax Guide. For 2025, only 22 % of the more than 1,000 hotels tested received a Lily award – and our Landgut & SPA Althof is now among those for the 8th time!

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let reception know at least 12 hours before the start of your treatment. If you cancel later than this, we will have to charge the full price.

Beauty and massage experience with the SanVino wine cosmetics used exclusively in the Althof VinoSPA in Austria
SanVino is an authentic spa and care concept with natural products straight from the vineyard. Cold-pressed grape seed oil, extracts of red wine and grape seeds from the region. SanVino is committed to quality, authenticity, origin and personal contact with people and nature. This holistic approach is reflected in both the products and the treatments.
A manageable number of products and a consistently developed SPA concept with soothing and regenerating treatments for the care of every skin type give SanVino the character of clarity and the claim: SanVino – Vino Cura Naturalis – Health through Wine
5 levels in our VinoSPA - 5 active ingredients of grape seeds:
- OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidins) is a bioactive ingredient with a high antioxidant, cell-protecting effect. It makes grape seed oil and grape seed flour a true miracle cure for oxidative stress, one of the main causes of heart attacks.
- Resveratrol is considered the anti-ageing active ingredient from red grapes with a similar effect to Botox.
- Viniferin has a skin-soothing and detoxifying effect.
- Grape stem cells protect against light-induced skin ageing and improve the skin’s appearance. The deep action of the products creates a longer vitality and attractiveness of the skin.
- Grape seed oil was used as a remedy for wounds, burns and cracked or oily skin even in ancient times. The light green oil is still valued today as a cosmetic thanks to its antioxidant active ingredient.
